Memories of My Melancholy Whores- Gabriel Garcia Marquez (1982 Nobel Prize for Literature)
This book is an exquisitely written account of a man’s quest for companionship and purpose in what is now the last chapter of his life. He finds it with an adolescent prostitute virgin whom he develops such a love for that it disrupts his original plans. Written as a memoir of sorts it is the story of an outsider who has feelings and thoughts not so different from you and I. The story is awkward and socially unacceptable to our norms yet you still feel everything this character experiences. It is an intriguing look into love, loneliness and longing.
Dreams from My Father- Barack Obama

I think every one, young men especially, should read this book. I read it and to be honest certain portions did not engage me as much as I would have hoped (however I am normally more of a fiction reader). It is a coming of age story of this incredible man. You shouldn’t read it because of what he has accomplished now, you should read it because it is a well written example of how everyone struggles with their identity, family, choices, and youth. The fact that this man has succeeded as much as he has now exemplifies that everyone starts in the same place and it is how we reflect on our growth and what we learn from our decisions that shape where we end up. It’s a good read for anyone, even if you’re not interested in the politics of its author.
I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell – Tucker Max
Although not a scholarly read through, it is intelligently written and so damn funny. Don’t read this if you are a super feminist or have some unattainable expectations on the average ‘university guys’ ideology of chivalrous behavior. I loved this book. I could not put it down. I rolled my eyes a few times at some of the simpler humour stories but it is witty and sells itself beautifully. We all know a ‘Tucker Max’ and secretly we all like him, even though he’s an asshole. This book will be one of those perma gifts for friends. (I think I have bought at least 5 for people). Enjoy a laugh at someone else’s expense, read this! (Movie coming soon)
Read & Enjoy – xoxo

After countless hours of searching, (my time spending priorities are way out of wack), I have found a source for headbands..
In case you don’t know, I’m all about bows.. and not just because it is the Gossip Girl trend (which I fully support none the less), but just because I have always been a tad obsessed. Anyway, Vancouver is extremely limited due to our minimal retail scene and its over corporated feel. Everyone is wearing the same everything. This will not do when it comes to ultra cute hair accessories.. So I went on a hunt.. and found. I will not share my source because I was raised and only child and sharing is not in my nature.. I will however show you the fabulousness that is out there.. and soon on my head!

As much as a fashionista as I am at heart and as much as I criticize people who are lazy in what they choose to wear, I am a Jeans&T girl to the core. Needless to say I have a plethora of T-Shirts. I was recently blessed with a new edition to my collection, the Pimp C T from Team Cream. Now in my day to day life I receive compliments on clothes and t-shirts but this one T has proven to be the magnet for attention. I have never been stopped so many times and had such a variety of people inquire about my t-shirts. It has been absolutely fun. I recommend it for anyone wanting something creative and fabulous.. my personal preference is the black on red.. xoxo
